I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and always dreamed of owning my own horses. However, it was never an option for my family. Even after I got married and started my own family it still seemed unlikely.
Then God intervened in a most unusual way. A friend of the family gave me a horse. It was a tiny little thing, wild, and unbroken. So there I was with little to no experience ready and willing to take care of this beautiful creature. That is where it all began. I have now owned over 10 different horses, been a part of shows and lessons, boarded several horses, and most importantly found my passion.
My daughters have taken lessons and competed in local game shows. We have also participated in the Extreme Cowboy Race, and we enjoy trail riding.
I know there are many young girls and boys out there with the same desire I had as a child. Big Oak Stables is all about teaching kids a knowledge of horses and riding skills at an affordable rate and in a caring environment.
I thank God every day for the opportunity He has given me here at Big Oak Stables and I will daily give my best to each person involved with Big Oak Stables.
